I made this in regards to that “Save Derpy” stuff.

Aqua. Ohmygod I love you already. Here’s a meme just for you.
And yes I have seen this happen. Also it was a female brony saying it. Just… WTF.

Not a meme, just an example of some quality FIM animation.
Ok, some of my submissions seem self contradicting, so i’ll explain my position quickly. FIM’s animation is fine and dandy for what it is, but it’s hardly an example of the best the animation medium has to offer. Ok? Ok.
Blackberry: ether way i’ll take it. c:

All gens of MLP re-use animation assets, pieces, backdrops. This is to save money, and it throws in-depth colour theory out the window. Sometimes, new backgrounds that match the characters well are made, but not re-occurring backgrounds. Also, higher-budget episodes (season beginnings, finales, movies) might show more flair than the weekly episode. But overall, it seems little attention is paid to making colours look good together. As long as the overall image is clear, and it matches the MLP colour vomit rainbows everywhere atmosphere, it’s good enough for the animators. This applies to all seasons!
(I should note this isn’t a huge insult. For example, early episodes of The Simpsons have awful mind-searing colours, and that changed as the show got popular. And yet the first 9-10 seasons are considered to be the best by many. There’s more to good animation than colour theory, though it certainly helps!)
MEME WITH AN ESSAY ATTACHED
sorry if i submitted twice by mistake :c

Really, it’s like whenever I chat with some people, it’s always “pony this, pony that, pony pony pony”. Sure, I like MLP as well, but that isn’t the only thing I ever talk about. Come on, let’s talk about other things, too, ya know?
